 For HMI tasks in the higher performance range, the 270 series offers touch- and operator panels – each with either an 8” or 10” display. The Windows CE-based devices feature 6 MB of application memory and high-contrast TFT displays with VGA resolution Commensurate with the more demanding application profile, the devices offer a wide range of interfaces, the option of using scripts and archives, and generally larger quantity structures. A non-volatile alarm buffer and 16 online-switchable languages are other attributes of this performance class.

 Multi Panels of the 270 series are intended for HMI tasks of medium to higher complexity, and for use in PROFIBUS DP networks or PROFINET environments. In addition to providing HMI standard functionality, the application range can be expanded through the WinCC flexible options Smart Access, Smart Service , OPC Server and Audit. All MP 277 device variants can be used as the platform fort the Software PLC WinAC MP. The functionality of the Software PLC SIMATIC WinAC MP 277 corresponds to a CPU 315 of the S7-300 system. As complete solution comprised of Multi Panel and WinAC MP option, the system also lends itself as a replacement for the larger SIMATIC C7 control systems. If you are looking for successor devices for Multi Panels used as high performing HMI devices, you can choose among SIMATIC HMI Comfort panels with 9 or 12 inch widescreen displays. For replacing a combined HMI and PLC solution based on WinAC MP and a Multi Panel you can either choose a classical hardware based solution e.g. with SIMATIC S7-1200 and Basic Panels or a  bundle comprising a Nano Panel PC 277, the Software PLC WinAC RTX and WinCC.

SIMATIC MP 277 8" KeySmallest Multi panel with membrane keyboard for applications where a complete keyboard is needed but only a device with a small footprint can be used.The successor is a 9 inch SIMATIC HMI KP900 Comfort, which is although offering a greater display mounting compatble due to its compact desgn.
SIMATIC MP 277 10" Touch / 10" KeyPowerful Multi Panels in the established 10” size segment that with VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) and a screen diagonal of 10.4” are a match for more demanding visualization tasks. The MP 277 10” Touch is also available with a stainless steel front for applications in the food & beverage industry.
For the 10 inch devices there are succesors with 12 inch widescreen  devices from the Comfort Panel family: SIMATIC HMI TP1200 / KP1200 Comfort  offer considerably greater screens and a higher resolution, the KP1200 comfort is even more compact than the MP 277 10 inch Key.
